What a downer

Elliot: "Mom, can I watch tv?"

Mom: "No buddy, you've watched enough tv today."

Elliot: "Bummer mom, that's a big bummer."

Where does he get this stuff?

Money can't buy you happiness

Elliot: "Poor Mommy"
Mommy: "Why poor mommy?"
Elliot: "Because you're poor"

Doesn't he know that as long as I have him I'm rich?

Feeling a little under the weather?

Waking Elliot from an almost 4 hour nap and he decides that he needs to sit on the side of the bed for a bit before getting up.  I mentioned to daddy that he had been coughing and we asked if he was feeling sick.  This is the interaction that took place.

"Buddy, are you feeling bad?"

"Yes"

"What's bothering you?"

"You're bothering me daddy.  Go away."

What do you even say to that?

Make mine a double...

Yesterday's funny:

As we're waiting at my office for the tow truck to arrive, Elliot is climbing all over the cement planters in the courtyard.  I told him to be careful and his response:

"We have to be careful or we could hurt or head, or hurt our ankle, or pop our eyes out, or hurt our knee."

Geez, pop our eyes out?  Where does he get this stuff.

And tonight's funny in the bathtub:

"Mommy, don't worry about me, you worry about your self!"

This one has quite the attitude.

Sports Day at Camp

So we dress Elliot up this morning in his University of Texas jersey, and he shouts over and over, "I'm a team!"  So, this solves the mystery...there is an "I" in team, it's my son!

The moral of this story...

"Once upon a time there was a boy and his daddy and they needed to go potty.  And then there was a wolf..."

This is what Elliot took from Sam's story of "The boy who cried wolf" as it relates to Elliot asking to go to the potty in the restaurant when he did not need to go.

He retold this story to us as he was getting ready to go potty before his bath.

Bath time funny

As Sam is giving Elliot his bath tonight, the routine is always to fill up our bath cup and ask Elliot to look up and close his eyes before we pour water on his head.  With bath cup in hand, Elliot turns to Sam and says, "close your eyes."  Sam responds, "no buddy, you are not pouring water on daddy's head."  Elliot's cute response was, " don't worry daddy, it'll be real quick."  Ha, a taste of our own medicine!
